Ready to Dig Deeper?

You've been reading your Bible. Maybe you've completed a few Guided Bible Studies, filled your Bible with notes, or started asking questions that you don't quite know how to answer.

And now you're ready for more.

You want to understand why a passage was written, what life was like for the people who first received it, how different parts of Scripture connect, and how to discover these things for yourself.

Welcome! This is where Bible study gets especially exciting.

At Saving Grace, our mission is to help you learn how to study the Bible for yourself. Whether you're ready to explore biblical geography, learn to use reference tools, or work through a more challenging study, we've gathered resources to help you take that next step.

You don't need to learn everything at once. Start with whatever has sparked your curiosity, and let's dig in!

1. Understand the World of the Bible

Have you ever wondered why Jesus traveled through Samaria, what made Jerusalem so significant, or how the geography of Israel shaped the events we read about in Scripture?

The Bible describes real people living in real places, during real periods of history. Understanding the world they lived in can help us better understand what we're reading.

Explore the geography, history, cultures, and customs of the biblical world with resources that help you put Scripture into context.

2. Learn to Study Scripture in Context

One of the most important Bible study skills you can develop is learning to read Scripture in context.

What comes before and after a passage? Who wrote it, and to whom? What was happening at the time? How does this passage connect to the rest of Scripture?

Learning to ask these questions can help us move beyond simply reading a verse in isolation and begin understanding what the biblical author intended to communicate.

And you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

Whether you're learning to use a concordance, exploring cross-references, or studying the meaning of a word in its original context, these resources will help you develop skills you can use throughout your life.

3. Challenge Yourself with a More In-Depth Guided Study

Ready to do more of the investigative work yourself?

Our Guided Bible Studies are designed with different levels of instruction. If you've enjoyed our earlier, note-heavy studies and are ready to become more involved in the study process, Levels 2 and 3 offer opportunities to put your growing skills into practice.

Remember, these levels aren't a measure of how much you know about the Bible or how long you've been a Christian. They simply describe how much guidance each study provides and how much independent study you'll be doing.

Choose the topic and level that interest you!

4. Build Your Bible Study Library

As you develop your Bible study skills, you'll probably discover that you have more questions than ever. That's a good thing!

Having a few reliable reference tools nearby can help you investigate those questions, understand unfamiliar words, and make connections you might otherwise miss.

You don't need to build an enormous library overnight. Start with one or two resources that complement the way you like to study, and add to your collection as you discover what you need.
