Freedom in Christ is a 4-week guided Bible study that includes daily exercises for 5 days each week, along with margin notes and cross-references to help you journal in your Bible. Each week also includes discussion questions, which you can do on your own or as part of a small group.
**NOTE: This Guided Bible Study is available as a digital download, print & ship, or as part of a Loaded Bible Kit, and is inside the Saving Grace Bible Study Vault.
During this Guided Bible study, you will learn that:
- Freedom is not autonomy but allegiance.
- Christ’s redemption breaks sin’s power, not just its penalty.
- Freedom must be guarded against returning to bondage.
- The Spirit transforms believers into Christ’s likeness.
- Freedom is freedom to righteousness, not freedom from obligation.
- Spiritual freedom transcends social status and external circumstances.
ABOUT THE GUIDED BIBLE STUDY
Throughout the Bible, there are recurring themes of slavery and freedom, from the original generation of Israelites being freed from slavery in Egypt to the promise of freedom from sin through salvation in Christ.
In this four-week guided Bible study, you will slow down to observe the text deeply and intentionally, use context clues to help you interpret scripture, and ultimately learn how the cost and calling of freedom in Christ applies to your everyday life.
FORMAT:
This Guided Bible Study has four weeks of guided study, five days per week, with one overarching set of passages each week.
- Day 1 - Observation of the text
- Day 2 - Book context
- Day 3 - Interpretation of the text Part 1
- Day 4 - Interpretation of the text Part 2
- Day 5 - Life application
There are discussion questions at the end of this week, which can be used to dig deeper on your own, or with a small group.
While there will be helpful suggestions for highlighting and adding notes to your Bible, this format encourages you to do hands-on study. The goal is two-fold: (1) to help you understand what it means to be free in Christ while also being enslaved to righteousness and (2) to help you learn to navigate, observe, interpret, and apply scripture on your own.
